PLANETS IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM! There are eight planets in our solar system. Starting from closest to the sun MERCURY. Mercury has no moons and no atmosphere because it is to small to hold on to either of them. One day on Mercuty would be the equivalent of 176 Earth days, and one year would be 88 Earth days making Mercury's day longer then a year.

Then VENUS with an atmosphere so thick you could almost swim in it. Venus has no moons. Venus's day length is 243 Earth days and a yer is 225 Earth days. Venus rotates clockwise which is unusual for most planets in our solar system.

Then there is our EARTH, of which I hope you already know this but one day takes 24 hours, a year is 365 days, we have an atmosphere and one moon named Luna.

MARS has almost no atmosphere and 2 moons, which are so small they aren't circles. Their names are Phoboes and Deimos. A day on Mars lasts about 24 and a half hours while a year lasts 687 Earth days. JUPITER is the biggest planet in our solar system, and our first gas planet we're covering. It has 95 moons, the largest being Ganymede, Callisto, Io, and Europa. One day on Jupiter is 9.9 hours, and a year is about 12 Earth years. SATURN is a gas planet with about 274 moons. Saturn has the biggest rings in the solar system. Saturn's day length in 10.7 Earth hours and a year is about 29.4 Earth years. URANUS also a gas planet that spins on its side. It has 28 known moons. Uranus's day length is 17 hours and 14 minutes long. One year is about 84 Earth years which is longer then the avreage human life span :). Finally NEPTUNE the farthest planet form the sun. Neptune's day length is 16.1 hours, and a year is about 164.8 Earth years. You won't live to see it go all the way around the sun once.
